This greeting card is a tribute to the legacy of the late Priscilla O. Were, founder of Glory Value School and former principal of Bunyore Girls High School and Lugulu Girls High School, who also served as a Commissioner of the Teacher's Service Commission and hosted 'Sisi ni Majitu' on KBC.
The card features a nature pledge poem written by Mrs. Were to honor and celebrate the life of Professor Wangari Maathai (wun-GAH-ree muh-THIGH), which she originally delivered at the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) St. Andrews Church during Professor Maathai's funeral service.
Through this initiative, Teddy Warria honors the climate action work of the late Priscilla Were and invites school children across Kenya to share their own climate action stories and pledges with warriateddy@gmail.com.
Designed to be printed on high-quality cardstock, this is a greeting card with a story; a lasting memory of the Tree of Hope: Priscilla O. Were. This can be used by teachers in the Competency-Based Education (CBE) for practising elegant handwriting in letter writing, through consistent greeting card writing to express gratitude.
